The Weather:

Vail sits slightly lower in elevation than other ski resorts in Colorado. That being said, the resort gets plentiful snow but offers more mild daily temperatures.  The average high temperatures in the December and January are in the 20s while in March and April it rises to an average in the 40’s. Due to the dry air, constant sunshine and elevation, 40 degrees in Vail can feel like 50 degrees elsewhere. Just like any other destination in Colorado, Vail boasts, 300 days of sunshine a year.

Classic BBQ in the heart of Vail Village. Vail’s small contingency of Texans have put their stamp of approval on this barbecue spot in Lionshead, even if the meats are dressed up in a tangy, Carolina-style sauce. The affordable menu and filling portions make this an après ski must.

Family Friendly: The Little Diner

The Little Diner is Vail Colorado’s only full-service diner serving Breakfast All Day and Lunch after 11:30AM daily during the Winter and Summer seasons.

Serving breakfast classics and regional specialties, they make everything from scratch with family recipes right before your eyes. Everything is prepared to order utilizing locally sourced ingredients available in our fully open kitchen.

Fine Dining: Flame

Vail’s premiere steakhouse Flame is located within the Four Seasons Resort. In addition to serving traditional steakhouse fare, such as dry-aged wyagu rib eye, they offer modern twists on classics, such as elk corndogs and roasted kimchi Brussel sprouts. Their menu  focuses on farm-to-table cuisine and emphasizes seasonality and sustainability. Be sure to try one of their expertly crafted cocktails made with Flame’s exclusive bourbon, but save room for their epic maple bacon doughnut.
